FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Is WhiteStone open to everyone, or do I need to be a Mason or Eastern Star?

WhiteStone is open to everyone. We honor our fraternal heritage and place a high value on loving-kindness and service to others.

What does independent living mean at WhiteStone?

More opportunities to stay social, active, and involved. You’ll have endless chances to try new things and pursue your lifelong passions with neighbors who share your interests. You can choose from hundreds of educational and recreational activities, join any number of special interest clubs, attend holiday parties and community barbecues, swim, garden, take exercise and wellness classes, and so much more.

How will moving to an independent living community like WhiteStone improve my quality of life?

Life is easier at WhiteStone because you have quick access to the essentials – from a hair salon to a convenient shop and business center. What’s more, our staff takes care of the chores, including cooking, housekeeping and maintenance, and provides scheduled shuttle service around town.

Are my future care and support secure at your senior living community?

Yes. WhiteStone is a Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC), which means you’ll never have to worry about the care you’ll need in the future. We offer a variety of services, from helping with activities of daily living to in-home care and assistance to skilled nursing, all provided by highly trained staff who know and care about you.

When is the right time to move to WhiteStone?

It’s never too early to start living – and loving – the carefree retirement you’ve earned. Good health is a requirement for new residency at most CCRCs. Seniors who do not live in a community that offers a full continuum of care will likely have to move – sometimes more than once – to another community when needs progress. WhiteStone residents age in place in the community they love regardless of the care they require at any given time.

Choosing to move to WhiteStone now with a future plan in place – on their terms – also relieves residents’ children of the difficult and emotional decisions they would have to make later should an emergency arise or a health condition affect new-residency eligibility at WhiteStone.

Are pets allowed at WhiteStone?

Yes, we love our four-legged friends. There are quantity and size restrictions, so please review our pet-friendly policy with a residency counselor.

What happens when I can no longer live independently at WhiteStone?

As a CCRC, WhiteStone has an on-site assisted living community to which residents can transfer – quickly and easily – when needs change and higher levels of care are needed. Short-term rehabilitation therapies, specialized memory care, and long-term nursing care services are also available right here on campus.
